Get your chocolate on with these yummy Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Balls! Rice Krispies Treats are always so fun to make and delicious any way you decide to make them. Trust me, I’ve made them every way you can think of. Years ago, I made Rice Krispies Treats with Fruity Pebbles & Cocoa Puffs cereal and they were amazing!
This weekend I was in the mood for sweet madness and this certainly hit the spot. Of course the original Rice Krispies Marshmallow Treats would have been just fine, but not for this girl. Bring on the chocolate and peanut butter cups!!!
Where are the peanut butter cups, you ask? They’re inside this Rice Krispie madness! Lol
There was nothing to it, just follow the original recipe on your Rice Krispies cereal box or marshmallow package, then get creative with your favorite toppings. Or see below for the my recipe here.
Are you in the mood for yummy chocolate peanut butter cup Rice Krispie Balls too? Follow along below to see how I made mine…
I used these ingredients…
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal, Marshmallows, Butter, Peanut Butter Mini’s, Chocolate Bars, Sprinkles, Nut Toppings & Wooden Skewers
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Balls RECIPE
3 TBSP. butter or margarine
1 package miniature marshmallows 10 oz.
6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal
4 milk chocolate candy bars
22 peanut butter cup mini’s
dash of sprinkes
dash of chopped nuts
Stir melted butter and miniature marshmallows in a large bowl, until well coated and microwave for 1 minute & 30 seconds, then stir.
Now, stir the Rice Krispies into your marshmallow mixture and let cool for about 10 minutes. The cooler and firmer the better, it makes for easier handling if you are molding them into balls. To form the balls, spray cooking oil (any kind) onto your hands to keep the mixture from sticking to your hands. FYI…It’s gonna get messy!
Using an ice-cream scoop, scoop up a spoonful and cup it into your palm. Put a peanut butter cup on top of the mixture that is in your palm. Now scoop up another spoonful of the mixture and layer it onto the peanut butter cup, then mold together by squeezing and rolling the mixture in your palm until you form a ball.
You can use any of your favorite candy bars for the center, you can’t go wrong.
These yummy chocolate peanut butter cup rice krispie balls will be a big hit for any occasion. When someone bites into this delicious treat, they will get a pleasant surprise once they reach the center! YUM!
Now that all of the balls are formed, set aside and let them cool some more. About 45 minutes. Don’t worry if the balls start to lose it’s shape while they are cooling down. When the balls are no longer sticky, they are good to go. Some may have lost their shape, just roll them between your palms once again. If you want to make them into pops, poke the center with wooden skewers or leave them as they are.
To melt the chocolate all you need to do is put some water into a small sauce pan and bring to a small boil. Pour broken up chocolate bars or chocolate chips into a measuring cup or heat safe dish and place into the pot. Once you see that the chocolate is melting, turn the heat down to a simmer. Stir continuously until melted. Remove from heat.
Now it’s time for that chocolate madness I was talking about! Dip to your Delight!
Cover all of it or just dip the top, it’s up to you. Add your favorite toppings to finish it off. Enjoy!
