DIY Framed Dry Erase Calendar

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally get started on this Metal Locker Transformation. I’m currently working really hard to give my Studio an organizational overhaul. I have acquired so much stuff over the years for my creative passions & my little blog that I’m left with very little space. This project is much bigger than anticipated, so I’m breaking it up into two parts. I’ve always felt that being organized is key, for me anyways. When my space is organized, I’m more creative and the inspiration just starts pouring in. Can you relate? I’m sure there has to be others out there who are like this too.

These lockers may look familiar to some of you….YES, these are the metal lockers from work. I may not have mentioned this to ya’ll, but those who do not know, I work a full time job during the week and run my little blog on weekends. Anyways, my workplace was selling metal lockers and I snatched some up right away! I paid $25.00 for each section. All proceeds went to The United Way, to help people in need.

The lockers above are 6 ft. tall and 12 inches wide, not including the legs. They are in great shape, inside and out! The other lockers I snatched up are vintage lockers and they are gorgeous! I will be doing a transformation on those as well, but on a post in the near future, so stay tuned! Ugh, it looks like my driveway needs some love too, YUK, sorry folks! Lol

I don’t want to give away too much right now, until the reveal, but I wanted the legs removed, they weren’t bolted on, so they had to be cut off. We were fortunate to have a friend help us out removing the legs. He removed them by using an angled grinder with a cutting disc and then smoothed the edges down. Thank you SO much Allan!

The next step, using sandpaper, I just lightly sanded the front and the back of the lockers, so when I paint them the paint will adhere to them easily.

Then they were stripped of any stickers and gunk that was left on from the previous users and then I wiped them clean inside and out.

Hopefully you will love the final results of this metal locker transformation, so please keep checking back for part 2 to see the reveal!

In the meantime, you may also want to check out another organizing idea here.

Thanks so much for your support & patience my beautiful readers, while I get my studio in tip top shape, so I can bring you more DIY’s!

Always from my DIY ❤, chelle’
